2008:

  • BBB managing director Dr. Gudrun Erzgräber retires and is awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz (federal cross of merit)
  • July 1: Dr. Andreas Mätzold and Dr. Ulrich Scheller are new managing directors

2007:

  • BBB and Eckert & Ziegler AG launch Forschergarten project
  • Forschergarten becomes "Ausgewählter Ort im Land der Ideen"

2006:

  • Campus entrance area is redesigned

2005:

  • Participation in European network projects
  • Establishment of a campus kindergarten – result of successful communication with internal and external partners

2004:    

  • BBB takes over the InnoRegio Office and the coordination of the campus education network

2003:    

  • Completion of the third IGZ construction stage: the Arnold Graffi Building
  • Campus InfoCenter begins operation
  • Improvement of public transport connection by locating a bus stop on campus; new parking spaces

2002:

  • Procurement of federal grants to interlink local players within the framework of the InnoRegio initiative “Berlin-Buch Health Region“
  • BBB is co-initiator and shareholder of the regional management: Berlin-Buch Management GmbH.

2001:

  • Completion of the second IGZ construction stage: the Otto Warburg Building and the Karl Lohmann Building
  • Organization of the first Long Night of the Sciences – an annual visitor attraction
  • Integration of the campus communication infrastructure into the gigabit science network G-WiN

2000:    

  • BBB takes over responsibility for property management and for strategy development of optimal campus management
  • Modernization of the infrastructure on campus: district heating and water utility lines, cafeteria

1999:

  • Opening of the Life Science Learning Lab as one of the first labs for middle and secondary school students in Germany
  • Launch of the InnoRegio initiative “Berlin-Buch Health Region”

1998:

  • Completion of the first construction stage of the Innovation and Incubation Center (IGZ): renovation and conversion of the Oskar and Cécile Vogt Building and the Life Science Learning Lab; construction of the Erwin Negelein Building

1997:

  • Launch of the model project “Promotion of the Berlin-Buch Region” within the framework of the European Social Fund (ESF), which continued until June 2008
  • Campus communication infrastructure links up with the broadband science network B-WiN

1996:

  • BBB begins business operations
  • Planning stage of the Innovation and Incubation Center (IGZ)
